Mage 10 Posted November 8, 2009 Hello People. I am sorry if this topic already exists, which I'm sure the same question has been asked several times throughout this forum. I have purchased ArmA 2 on steam a few weeks ago (when it was 50% off) and liked it so much I encouraged several friends to buy it so we can play. Alright, so now we have a forming ArmA 2 community and growing, most of them also like me bought the game just now so we are super new to this. Anyways, here's my question. Can somebody write a simple guide on how to build a co-op map? I've been looking up and down the web and learned a lot about mapping for ArmA 2, using the built-in editor. However, I'm having troubles when attempting to create a mission in which objectives have to be done in order and to end the mission when the last objective is complete. We have so many ideas and we're looking forward to bring in fresh material to this great game but right now we need a little help from our fellow arma2 players or the developers to write a human-readable very simple tutorial on how to make a basic co-op map with at least 2 or 3 objectives so that we can catch up and build upon. Kind Regards.
cross 1 Posted November 8, 2009 This section is for terrain editing...creating island etc.. For mission map making go to the mission editing and scripting. There are lots of editing and mission making tutorials. This is a good ref thread -> http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=78089 Read the community wiki and this -> http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=71370 Also make sure you check the old ArmA1 section as well. Lots of info there.
rocket 9 Posted November 8, 2009 Welcome to the ArmA community! Definately check out the links above as much as you can. Only thing I would add to that, is to start simple. Get some simple concepts under your belt and you'll be fine. Making mods/missions is a complicated process due to the nature of the scope available. Make liberal use of the wiki! Evil_Echo 11 Posted November 9, 2009 If you mean a co-op mission and not a making new terrain then there are a number of guides out there. Mr. Murray's guide is a classic.
