Dedicated server not reporting to gamespy

Hi there. I have ARMA 2 running for some of the clan guys, but I cannot get it to report to gamepsy.

Part of the server.cfg looks like this...

// private server - no reporting ("armedass.master.gamespy.com" to report to the master server)

// I changed this line to the one following reportingIP="master.gamespy.com";

reportingIP="armedass.master.gamespy.com";

I hope that one of these lines needs changing that some here is going JFC what a Noob, as long as you can help me out I can handle a little abuse! :)

You need to open the port for it as well

Thanks for replying. I am told by the host that all the ports on the dedi server are open by default so that probably isn't the problem.

Is the line in the cfg OK?

There are two lines in the default config.

reportingIP="master.gamespy.com";

reportingIP="armedass.master.gamespy.com";

Of these I use the second one but I do not know what the difference is.

Apart from the password I haven't changed the default config at all.

"armedass.master.gamespy.com" is for armed assault not arma 2.For arma 2 "arma2pc.master.gamespy.com" as PogMoThoin said.

If none of them works try to ignore all of them by putting // in front.

Thats the only way i get my server to show.

I hadn't noticed that Pog had posted a different line! I changed it and now it is reporting to gamespy. thanks to all who helped!
