deathUK 10 Posted October 27, 2009 I played almost the whole game fine, but now when I load the game there is no sound. It is working for my PC in general, just not ARMA 2 for some reason. This happened once before but I quit the game and restarted it and then it worked. Now I have restarted my PC several times and the game many times and there is never any sound. Any ideas why? Card is an E-MU 0404, and no, I don't think I have changed any drivers or anything since it last worked. ---------- Post added at 08:46 PM ---------- Previous post was at 08:38 PM ---------- Oh and I forgot to say, the little check boxes at the start when it starts to load, te last two don't check. They all used to when it was working. What do the last two check boxes mean?
Alex72 1 Posted October 27, 2009 Not sure there. But test 2 things. Try to install the latest OpenAL drivers: Download the latest ones here: http://connect.creativelabs.com/openal/Downloads/oalinst.zip And if it still doesnt work test this just to see what happens. Change to directX sound by adding the command in your shortcut: -dsound (Use DirectX sound.) This is not really the solution for you since you had sound before. And im doubting this will help if you had sound but its gone now. But test it if the first option fails. If there still wont be any sound i hope someone else can help out. Or maybe i will come up with something more. ...And the last 2 checkboxes do not load. Not even for me. Never did. ;)
deathUK 10 Posted October 30, 2009 Thanks for this Alex, I will give it a go. I am almost certain that all checkboxes were checked before, as I think I would have notcied if they weren't? Anyway, lets see...

Bulldogs 10 Posted October 31, 2009 Don't worry about OpenAL (Arma 2 doesn't use open Audio Logic, I think Arma 1 does though) Download the latest Directx9 build (even if using vista) and install that. After that try changing your Speaker settings and sample rate. If using Vista/7 Goto Control Panel -> Sound -> Speakers -> Advanced, then change the sample rate (test different settings, lowest then highest is a good place to start, then test some others), also try clicking "Allow applications to take exclusive control of this device"
