Fanchou 10 Posted October 23, 2009 Hi folks, 1st please excuse my english... I'm French :D So I just reinstalled OFP GOTY ED with patch 1.96. And ati tools diplay constant frame rate of 15 or 16 FPS !!! Config : care2 E6600 2 GO ram graphics : ati 4890 HD I tried to change resolution : nothing occurs FPS still 15-16 !!! Does somebody have encountered this ? Precisions : Running XP NO MODIFICATION OF THE ORIGINAL OFP. sanctuary 19 Posted October 24, 2009 There are some settings known to kill framerate. By example, terrain detail, do not set this over Normal even if you think your computer is powerfull. High and Very High have a big impact and will make your system to crawl, and additionally the extra bumpy lands can create some problems for AI vehicles. -View distance, do not set it over 1500 or 2000 if your system is good enough very far view distance sure looks cool and all, but the larger it is, the more impact it has on your system. The original campaigns were built for a view distance of 900 if i remember well, and setting it too large yourself can sometime break those campaigns triggers. When I get to my game computer, I'll update w/ what I did to get fps in the 20s to 40s. . . For starters, though, I have the frame rate slider all the way to the right. Resolution is at 1600x1200.
