But probably with any given line of the story you might get about 10 missions. But you also need to understand that Manhattan mission, and to a much greater degree, the Dogs of War mission are large sandbox type missions where you literally have multiple tasks. Dogs of War alone could have possibly been split into 5 different missions.
guggy107 10 Posted October 23, 2009 thanks for the reply. so in terms of gameplay hours, is it comparable with the 30-some odd missions of the original OFP?
jeffroland 10 Posted October 23, 2009 Not really. I think it took me longer to play OFP but back then I was also learning the complex command system. I didn't play ARMA I but I was able to learn ARMA II fairly easy although there are some new things to learn. Another thing about ARMA II is that you will probably spend a good amount of time working around bugs and AI glitches. I probably could have completed the campaign in about 2/3 the amount of time it actually took me if there were no bugs. But don't let the bugs scare you. It's still fun if you're a fan of the original OFP. Also, you shouldn't worry about the amount of content per money spent on the game. Scenario designers have already released many single player and multi-player missions as well as a few campaigns. The replay value is infinite. Also there are new maps that you can download which are very good quality IMO.
