How to force ai to attack object?

I'd like to know how can I force AI infantry to

attack an object (barrel) with gun or grenade.

I tried:

this attack <barrel>

and using destroy waypoint

it doesn't work

Solider looks at the object but doesn't fire at all.

With "humans" it works well.

First give your soldier a name, then give the barrel a name.

Then make a trigger, and in the activation field put:

unitname dofire barrelname

Should do the trick!

Just the same result.

Now I discovered, that when the solider is in proper distance,

he throws grenade.

But he never fires a gun. mad.gif

Could be that the soldier doesn't think that the gun is an appropriate weapon to use on the barrel. For example, if you were to replace the barrel with a empty BMP, the soldier would lob grenades, but he wouldn't fire his guns as he knows he has no chance of taking out the BMP with his gun.
