Arma-2-Guru 55 Posted September 26, 2009 (edited) Water on the Moon isn't such an amazing thing in my opinion, but it's still a breakthrough nonetheless. Edited September 26, 2009 by Sgt Cresswell Stupid post

Student Pilot 0 Posted September 26, 2009 Uh huh, because the US and USSR were going to establish secret bases on the moon after finding out there was water on it and create a monopoly on moon water :j: What benefit, exactly, would there be to hiding this information from the public? Also, by water, it is meant a liter (gallon? ...one of those) for every TON of dirt. Not exactly oceans of water with refreshing, sparkling fountains dotted around the landscape. No one knew this before simply because the tools were not available to measure a liter/gallon/whatever in a ton of dirt. Interesting information, especially for far future missions where colonization might actually be possible, but nothing overly groundbreaking. -Student Pilot

Fudgeblood 10 Posted September 26, 2009 I think what they are trying to say is that indian are the best... I think they've been trying to say that with their many other Indian threads. I'm suprised this one didn't have a poll.
riffleman 20 Posted September 26, 2009 This thread i think for why did world space agencies did't disclose this fact in front of world officially, evenafter they know this thing from many years.
4 IN 1 0 Posted September 26, 2009 Because unless you can prove that there really is water on moon, this all are just wild guessing

Yes? or Yes? lol I think, even though its good news that indians have found water on the moon, it is no suprise being one of THE most common substances in the universe! There's even water orbiting us......no, wait, thats astronaut pee!

4 IN 1 0 Posted September 26, 2009 The fact still remains, unless someone return to moon and find a piece of rock that contains enought amount of water, this is still guessing, even in theory it is possible
Rahul 10 Posted September 26, 2009 (edited) yes man that seem to be a good quetion.now our chanderyan-2 will go to moon in 2012 and dig up the soil there.than you see Edited September 26, 2009 by Rahul re

thomas c 0 Posted September 27, 2009 Good on India for stating a truth, the fact that other so called "advanced states, countries" have problems in telling any kind of truth is no suprise. The important thing is the advancement of man kind, not bigotry that seems to be thriving at this momment in time, take it on the chin, the so called western guys that have spent more time above the atmosephere than anyone else don't seem to want to share it with any other fellow human kind, sad really, but again, no surprise.;)
Sennacherib 0 Posted September 27, 2009 water itself is not important. the important thing is to understand how water is created in the universe. h2O completed is very rare. btw, well done India. but I would have preferred an international cooperation. Space is too huge for only one state :p
halleyelec 10 Posted September 27, 2009 Well, until all conflicts ands wars have been put to an end, I doubt that there will be any further significant development on international cooperation. It's sad but true. It would have been good to continue going to the moon in the 70's, regardless of the cold war, that way at least there would have still been competition to develop settlements on the moon. Again, does anyone have any proof that NASA covered this up from everyone? In fact, at this stage I'd almost settle for someone who can come with a half-reasonable sounding reason why they'd bother... but I would have preferred an international cooperation. Space is too huge for only one state From my reading of it, it was done in co-operation with NASA. Edited September 27, 2009 by echo1
