casey111 0 Posted September 15, 2009 (edited) The 101st Rakkasans is a realism unit, dedicated to accurately portraying the United States Army in ArmA: Armed Assault and ArmA 2. We are a friendly, active clan, consisting of a wide range of people, from various backgrounds. Including Ex and current military personnel from several countries, including, but not limited to the US Army, Marine Corps and British Army. Currently we have over twenty active members, and we undertake at least one private operation per week, as well as one or two public operations on Wednesdays and Fridays. Upon joining you will be put through our Basic Combat Training, before being assigned to one of our fire teams, in a dedicated role. Many of which require extra training. Including: ∙Rifleman/Assistant Team Leader: The second in command of the fire team, advising the team leader, and leading the men in his absence. ∙Anti-Tank Rifleman: Assigned the duty of carrying the M136 AT-4 Unguided Anti-Tank Weapon. A portable one shot anti-tank weapon, designed to be fired in urban environments, and to fulfil a myriad of roles, with specialised ammunition. ∙Combat Medic: Specially trained to treat injuries in the field and keep his fire team alive when s*** hits the fan, with minimal medical equipment, or support. ∙Automatic Rifleman: Carrying either the M249 SAW (Squad Automatic Weapon) or the M240 Light Machine gun. The Automatic Rifleman provides the heavy fire power, and suppression for the fire team. ∙Assistant Automatic Rifleman: Required to carry extra ammunition for the automatic rifleman, when it is required, he is also the AR’s eyes and ears, his bodyguard and his spotter. ∙Grenadier: Armed with the M203 under barrel grenade launcher, and a of hand held grenades. The Grenadier is capable of placing a grenade at long ranges on a target, be it a 40mm frag, or a smoke grenade for CAS to target. ∙Designated Marksman: Armed with a DMR, or similar scoped weapon, the Designated Marksman provides accurate fire support for the fire team. ∙Combat Engineer: Specially trained for siege, onsite repair and demolitions. The Combat Engineer is capable of building, repairing and destroying almost anything. ∙Intel Representative: Responsible for the recon, doing background checks, writing up reports for the rest of the unit to use. A position to work toward, proficient in HuntIR’s and reconnaissance. Capable of moving to a position, doing a recce, then returning to base without firing a shot. If you wish to try anything different, there are opportunities to put in applications for one of our other division: ∙Aviation: Eagle Company, responsible for rotary support, evac and CAS. Highly skilled pilots and flight crews capable of flying almost anything with a rotor. ∙Special Forces: The most skilled of the 101st’s infantry, the 5th SFG are all specially trained and capable of completing almost any mission silentgtly and quickly. ∙Artillery: Capable of firing the M119 Howtizer at up to 15km accurately, as well as bombarding the enemy with Mortar fire from a closer position. I lead a historical Realism unit for Red orchestra, and now Arma. we are the Grenadier-Regiment 187 we are mostly a WW2 Historical German Realism unit. We represent the German WW2 unit the Grenadier-Regiment 187, a wehrmacht unit under the 87.Infantrie Division. My best Friend and I cofounded the 187th, and we got the name from the American 187th as my friends father was in the 187th Rakkasans. how long has your unit been around?
