Stuttering video at start up/sound prob xp

Recommended Posts

I've noticed the following: i play at 1024x768 32 bits and when the gameoptions screen appeared it stuttered every 2 sec. i go to video, changed it to 800x600 32 bits and it runs smoothly, go back to 1024x768 32 bits in video options and tralala than its works fine! Somebody experienced the same??

xp-256 mb ram-geforce 2 mx400-philips pcs705 audio.

With sound i disable EAX and hardware TL, otherwise i get allot of different sounds, crackling etc. Also put the slider in DXdiag by sound speedup to the left. Anybody have othr solutions for these probs??? Thanks in advance wink.gif

Update your video drivers. Maybe that GF2MX doesn't have enough steam to pull of a 1024*768 in 32 bit.

You must realise that every game is different.

I can play some games at 1600*1200*32. Games like Colin McRae. Same thing can't happen with games like Max Payne or Operation Flashpoint. Also OF requires a very good CPU, too.

I think is your GPU's power.

I'm running a GeForce2 MX400 64MB AGP on a Asus A7V motherboard. I don't have trouble with the graphics. What motherboard and cpu do you have?
