mr_yozzie 0 Posted March 23, 2002 Cool Editor at the CZ Operation Flashpoint site is deadly. I installed it and now my computer is dead! Can anyone tell me how to ressurect my computer when it gets to the windows desktop scree and won't load any more. It says "Explorer error, program has performed an illegal operation". Mister Frag 0 Posted March 23, 2002 There was a warning in the General forum about this POS (see THIS thread). It would seem that if you can find original copies of the four files in the SYSTEM directory that get overwritten (Stdole2.tlb, scrrunn.dll, Shdocvw.dll, Msvbvm60.dll), you should be able to get the system going again. Boot into command prompt mode so that the DLLs aren't loaded, and copy them from a floppy -- a buddy with the same OS as yours should be able to get you the files. NOTE: Incidentally, the STDOLE2.TLB file may not necessarily be needed, since it is a OLE/COM Type Library, and doesn't contain any information that the system can't obtain from the corresponding DLL.
