IceFire 0 Posted March 23, 2002 I was playing Red Dawn, and as I was driving the jeep down to Guba's base to stop him. I got kinda lost. Well, I like to drive the jeep FAST because it is so easy to control. Anyways, I came up this hill real fast, went off of it like a ramp. And then I landed on a SCUD launcher! Well my jeep was trashed. We all unboarded. Me and 2 other guys with AT's. They killed the soldier/s around the scud, and then I planted a satchel at the scud. We got far a way and I blew it up. Then I ordered my men in the Hummer to my position, They came by, I hopped in and headed for Guba's base. We got there, killed some soldiers. Guba had left the base by the time we got there. So I decided to take the hummer and race it up the road to try to catch Guba. Before I got back into the Hummer, a T80 rolled up and shot me. Anyways, I was wondering if killing the scud will have any effect on the mission? Maybe he won't be able to launch the scud then if he reaches it. IceFire 0 Posted March 23, 2002 Ok, I just figured out that question. I just played red dawn again. But now I have several others. 1st off, I stopped Guba's car in the middle of the road. I killed all his men, and talked to him. Well, after that was done, Guba just continued to walk around. I didn't hand cuff him or take him with me or anything. What is going on? Am I doing something wrong? After that, I decided the game wanted me to kill him, so I did. Then it didn't say mission completed. But it wanted me to return to base. I know that I am supposed to take out the scud, but what am I supposed to do with Guba if not kill him??? Sorry, confused. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
Guest Titanium Posted March 23, 2002 Heres a walkthrough from the flashpoint editing center. I editied it alittle tho cause its easier with my version 40. RED DAWN Take 2 guys with you into the HMMVV and let the others have a nice vacation. Proceed along the souther road and turn right at Eh51. Stop shortly before the base at Ed/Ee46 and snipe the guards. Drive into the base andmount the fuel truck. Take it outside to the Hind. Get into the hind (ride in back). The 2 guys you took with will be the pilot and gunner. Use the guided rockets to dispose of the Shilkas. spot the SCUD (it's in the north of sector Ih20), . Now eject over the land. Take out the scud. head up to the main raoad and wait for a UAZ. This is Guba. Hide somewhere with a good view on the road. When Guba arrives snipe the driver (be careful not to hit Guba!. IceFire 0 Posted March 23, 2002 Jeez Titanium, I already got there. Re-read my post above yours. I need to know WHAT TO DO WITH HIM ONCE I GET HIM. They say to arrest him, but I can't kill him?? Random 0 Posted March 23, 2002 If you looks closely, you'll see that Guba has become part of your squad. You can select him and order him around by pressing F8. I normally grab the M113 (or the Humvee if you want) and drive down to the road with two other guys. Send the rest of your team to the chopper base to take out any enemy. Plant a mine on the road (in case a tank comes rolling past) and wait for the UAZ. Take out the driver and other Spetsnaz and talk to Guba. Then run back up the hill to the chopper base, refuel and jump in. Fly over to the Scud position and start targeting white squares on your radar. Eventually, you'll target the Scud. Launch a missile and fly out to sea (to get away from the Shilkas). Mission complete. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
IceFire 0 Posted March 23, 2002 Alright, this is weird. I did the mission again. Caught Guba. After catching Guba, I went for the second scud. I crawled under the scud and layed 3 satchels. Ran away and blew them up. After that. The general and I headed for the base, before I got there, the mission ended saying that the scud got launched. What?? What is going on here? Guest Titanium Posted March 23, 2002 After i ejected onto the land, i took out the scud first thing. Then i lay in wait for Guba, when he comes rollin through i take out the driver and run upto guba. It is okay if you kill him. THey say "accidents happen" or something like that, but wheter or not you kill guba, you will win as long as you 1.arrest/kill (run up to him b4 u kill him) him. 2. destroy the scud. and it takes almost a minute or two for the mission to end after you do this (for me atleast it was). so sit back for a while after you do the mission Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Random 0 Posted March 24, 2002 It still matters if Guba gets killed though. It might have been changed with a newer patch, I suppose, but whenever Guba got killed, I failed the mission. Once I made Guba get into the back of the Hind and he got hit with a Shilka bullet. I failed the mission because he died. Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

IceFire 0 Posted March 24, 2002 I completed the mission perfectly. First thing, I took the Humvee and 2 black ops, each armed with Laws, just incase. To a north road which is kinda isolated, and I knew when Guba would come there. I parked the Humvee with my men inside behind some woods. I crossed the woods to the road, and waited prone. As soon as his car came wizzing by, I started to shoot it with my MP5 to stop it. As soon as it stopped, I killed all his men and took guba. Guba and I got back to the Humvee, I got him in. And I headed back to the base. Got back to the base without incident. They all got out of the Humvee, and I had guba heal at the medic since I accidentially hit him a few times. Got into the jeep and headed out north east. Got into a hind. Flew the hind over the scud, and then ejected. Landed 50 yards away from the scud. Got to the scud and placed 3 satchels under it. Ran into the woods and lit her up. Boom, Guba's safetly at the base with all my men, and the scud was destroyed. In the ending reports, it said that I would get a medal. Yay!
