Question about your helecopter ride support in campain mode

Hello, I an new to the forums and have recently bought ARMA 2 and decided to join.

I am just getting a hang of all the controls and options that this game has to offer, but there is an issue that I have not been able to resolve.

I have the helicopter support now, and when I called it it used to come.

Now for some strange reason when I use the support, the helicopter doesnt come at all.

The pilot (madox?) acknowledges the reqest, and says that he is on his way, but nothing happens, 5, 10, 20, minutes of waiting.

If I check the map, it says that the LZ is right next to me, but the heli is still not there, nor coming.... =(

If I call again for the ride, same thing, the pilot acknowledges the request, says that they are on their way, but they don't ever come....

Any ideas on what I can do?

Also while I am on the topic, how do I (or the pilot, madox) refill the fuel and ammo of the heli?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

You shouldn't need to refill or rearm it. It is pretty much just there for transport. I can't explain why he is not coming. I suppose its possible that it is kind of bugged right now and that is why. Maybe try restarting the level or something. if thats an option for you.

Try moving to a slightly different location and call him again. That works for me.

Nope I guess it's just bugged. I moved probably a few clicks away from the LZ that I first selected to another LZ, but noting new happens....

Could the heli get shot down by AA fire on the way there?

I think if that happens then they normally inform you via your radio.

They tell you when the heli gets shot down.

I guess he is hovering over some other LZ, where he cannot land. I had the same issue once. I had ordered him to land in a forest. He tried to do so for the rest of the mission and would not respond to any new command - well, he responded via radio but would not show up.

That or he managed to get stuck UNDER some sort of hangar ...... Madox is a pretty bad pilot. I ended up "renting" an old car from the civilians.

Same thing happened to me in the campaign. Called helicopter, flew over our postion, went into a hover as if to land and then...nothing, it just hovers there, unmoving. No matter where I call it from it doesn't move. Maddox has obviosly gone insane. Next time I play I'll just restart from an earlier save or restart the mission.
