Vercuric 10 Posted August 14, 2009 Hi guys, this is the first time I've tried altering Arma II. I'm fairly certain I've downloaded all the needed tools for editing sound in Arma II, which I found out about in this thread: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=79935 It looks like changing the music files are different from other sounds, though. They're all in .ogg format. I'm not sure if I was right on this, but I coverted all of the songs I wanted from .mp3 and .wav format to .ogg 16-bit and stereo with Audacity, then I copied the naming convention of the songs and overwrote the songs I wanted to change. I repacked it as music.pbo, then overwrote the old music.pbo file. None of the music worked, there was none in the game. I kept the folder structure the same when I packed it, as far as I can tell, the problem lies with the way I've made these .ogg files. I put the original music.pbo back in place, and everything was back to the way it was before. If someone could tell me how to properly make these .ogg files for altering the music, I would greatly appreciate it. Sorry if it's been covered before, I could find a thread about it for Arma II. Mark XIII (DayZ) 18 Posted August 14, 2009 (edited) Hi mate, please do not edit BIS pbo's, you could activate fade or screw up your MP games...Better to make a standalone config that overwrites the default one :) P.s, We'll try and cover music in the thread you found the tools in :) http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=79935 Edited August 14, 2009 by Mark XIII
Vercuric 10 Posted August 15, 2009 Ok, thanks for the warning about editing the pbo files. Not sure if it makes a difference, but I bought Arma II off of Steam, and I figured I could re-download it if I really messed it up. I haven't added anything to it yet, so I wouldn't be losing anything. Whatever, I won't mess with the original pbos anymore.
