Cleric 10 Posted August 14, 2009 I've had ArmA 2 for about 5 days now, and for the first few days the in game VON worked great; every channel sent to the right people and everybody heard me. For the past day or two, no matter where I go, nobody can hear me on VON, not an any channel. For a failsafe test, I took several trust worthy unit-members into different servers and tested VON on every channel, and while I could activate the mic icon, nobody could hear me. I know this isn't a mic problem because at the same time I'm in ventrilo/teamspeak with them talking. I use separate keys for in-game VON and third party VOIP so it's not a key conflict either. The in-game VON doesn't work no matter what I try; if I shut down ventrilo it still doesn't work. I haven't changed any settings when this started. And lastly I'd like to apoligize for the robot quality of my speech, I'm quite tired. :j:
Cleric 10 Posted August 14, 2009 Doesn't anybody have some kind of clue? Surely I can't be the only one with this problem. D=
BD1 0 Posted August 15, 2009 Just make sure the server you are playing on has not turned of VON... many have, as it has proven to crash servers with more than 20 players playing.... VON is pretty FUBAR right now....WHY BiS felt it needed to overhaul the sound engine is beyond me...
Ebden 10 Posted November 20, 2009 Any solution to the VON issue? It worked for me last week, but doesn't seem to work anymore. My ARMA is up-to-date, my mike works just fine in TS. I've gone through variations of restart with and without TS, addons, etc. Nothing. I can hear others using VON in-game, but the game isn't picking up my transmission even though the ptt symbol appears. (my name, however, doesn't appear, which is the indicator for actually transmitting).
pipscouse 10 Posted August 27, 2010 I have the same problem. VON worked fine for ages. The only thing I can think I did is that I let the game set the mic sensitivity in OA under audio options. Since then the game doesn't pick up my mic. As with others, the mic is definitely not the problem as it works fine with TS3 etc. Just to add; in game, VON shows that I am talking (capslock and my tag shows) but nobody can hear me. Please, can someone help with this??
