Base war map

Hi, I'm new, so I don't know if this idea has been suggested/declined/invented or whatever, so please bear with me.  smile.gif

I had recently purchased C+C : Renegade, and I like the fact how each team would have its own base and the objective was to destroy the enemy base.  Is it possible to apply this concept to Operation Flashpoint?  I mean, wouldn't it be cool for each base to have its own Airport in which A-10s respawn in the hangers?  Wouldn't it be awesome to a massive 20 ft. walls surrounding each base with guard towers on each corner equipped with M2s?  The base could also have a main gate and a helipad etc...

The bases could be placed very far from each other, or it could be a little closer, but not so close in which the game is over in just 10 minutes.  It would be awesome to have sneak chinook drop-offs close by the base and have a commando regiment sneak into the base (imagine the great night missions).  There could be a limit on the number of vehicles.  There could be a vehicle spawn (similar to the vehicle spawn in WW2 OL) for tanks/jeeps/AFV etc...  Ammo crates would be scattered, and the supply trucks could have their own special spawn (as you can see, I was hoping the base would be fairly large).  Infantry could spawn at their own base, and there could even be a little "porta potty houses" in which player could get other players in each house if they want to organize a coordinated attack together.  

EX :

Jim : Rob, come in porta potty house # 2 with me, no one is in there.

Rob : K, hey Bob, bring Joey and Matt, our airbone boys, to porta potty house # 2, we are going to launch a coordinated attack with our tank boys.

Joey + Matt: K

Jim : Hey Josh, tell our tank boys to come in porta potty

# 2, we are going to do a coordinated attack with our airbone boys.

Josh : K, Tank squad Alpha, report to house # 2, Ranger squad Bravo, gear up, we're going in.

Yeah, I know I took it over the line a little, and not that many people are going to be so strategic, but some of us might use these houses frequently...  smile.gif

Also, there could be a lot of forest, and roads, and broken cities, and homes, and villages....  The more debris inbetween the bases, the better.  The walls shouldn't be destructable, the game would be over too quickly with chopper rushes...  Instead, it would be better if the buildings could be destroyed, and "respawn" like 5 minutes later (important buildings such as a helipad, and an airport) which could render air support unavailable.  It would even be better if the admin could choose destructable buildings "on/off" himself.  There would be a flag that would have to be captured and brought back to your base (yup, another CTF map) but it would be a lot more fun and not so confusing.

There should be a main "highway" that would lead straight to the base for those that despise sneak attacks, but it would be the enemy's responsibility to defend their base from the main route.  

Thanks for bearing with my boring post, please add ideas if you feel this could turn into something great if it had so and so...

even tho i dont like renegade the idea for a flashpoint verson sounds lot better sum mod used to be called dune converson mod had working idea of it made for 1v1 tho. What i find bout renegade is even tho the grpahics are pretty crappy and areas small it runs real slow on my system 850duron

hate to see some one with lower specs play.

All this that you are suggesting, is simply a matter of someone making a map like that.

You can set buildings, vehicles, planes whatever, to respawn at your convenience.

The only thing that limits your possibilities, is processing power really.

how are you going to get the planes out of the hanger? doors are a bit small

HellToupee upgrading from a TNT2 to a GF4 is a big leap. Mind that u shall also need a good CPU to give some juice to the card. If you are gonna use the same CPU that must be a pretty low performance CPU for now something like P3-500-600 range then u shall need to upgrade that, too smile.gif

Good upgrading though. Helps fragging at a higher fps biggrin.gif

Well I saw those "plane parking lots" after I landed in the last mission near the sports car, lol, and I parked my plane very nicely in there. Maybe substitute the hanger idea for the "parking lots" and have the planes facing a taxiway so they can taxi to the main runway? biggrin.gif

...or you could set out to make your own, just the way you like it.

Making maps is one of the things that keeps this game alive, it's a blast. Diffcult at first, yes, but all fun things are...
