Weez 10 Posted August 6, 2009 (edited) I just installed game from Steam and the game runs fine (after I rebooted) and I get no audio for both my USB headset (Pantronics) and Sondblaster SB X-Fi with speakers. I have rebooted several times and then tested both USB and Soundblaster with other applications and it works fine. However, does not work with ARMA 2. Any suggestions? Bulldogs 10 Posted August 6, 2009 Couple of things to check. Under X-Fi audio control panel, make sure CMSS and Crystalizer are disabled. Goto device manager (control panel->System->advanced system settings->hardware) and check if the Pantronics headset uses it's own drivers, if so, disable those and try running just through the speakers and X-Fi. (two seperate sound cards can often argue in many games)

I am running Windows Vista 64 Ulitmate if that makes any difference.
Bulldogs 10 Posted August 6, 2009 It's looking like it's a bug in 1.03 as it seems to be affecting a lot of sound cards (mainly creative) Once I'm back at my com I'll do a few tests and see if I'm affected and see if I can find a workaround.
disobey 10 Posted August 6, 2009 I have had no problems with sound (Creative X-Fi, EAX and HW accel enabled in arma2.cfg) however my friend has, he has a built in Sigmatel audio device and gets no sound whatsoever. I did notice though, some lag when a level loads and the first shots from my pistol didn't ring out, almost as if the sounds were still spooling/loading when they were first played. All in all, not impressed with this patch. I'm a developer for a software company and if we released software in this state, we'd not be in business very long.
