mrprez 0 Posted March 19, 2002 I was wondering if anyone can help me out on how I can run a dedicated server on one of my windows machines thats behind the linux firewall (debian distribution, kernel 2.2) How can I make it so everyone else can see me on the internet? My ICQ is 43456456, and any help appreciated in advance?
Mister Frag 0 Posted March 19, 2002 Assuming you know how to configure the firewall, you can get the list of ports that needs to be opened from Avon Lady's OFP FAQ by searching for the keyword FIREWALL.
mrprez 0 Posted March 19, 2002 I'm not sure how. Can you fill me in on the specifics, please?
Mister Frag 0 Posted March 19, 2002 Sorry, I've been making a point of staying as far away from all flavors of LINUX as I can. You may want to read this document on securing the Debian distribution of LINUX, it covers setting up the firewall. Armed with this knowledge, it should be fairly easy to open up the ports found in the FAQ: http://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/securing-debian-howto/index.html
