daza 36 Posted July 29, 2009 This problem happened to me in Arma1 as well. I created a MP Mission, and using the cpo utility program i packed it into a pbo file. And i was play-testing the mission, since you cant respawn properly in the Preview mode in editor. I had Hercules plane on a grass run way, which proved to be too short. So i went back into the editor and moved all my units and plane to the main airport in Chernarus. Packed that up into a cbo and put it in my main Arma2/MP folder. When i ran it as a Lan, i only had two units which i didnt move as selectable player slots. Doh! i forgot when you move a unit, the Playable selection reverts back to unplayable! (is this something that is over looked? its very annoying having to correct 21 units individually- im not into serious scripting to do all that in script yet.) So i corrected the problem and saved it, and repacked it. But for some reason it only shows the old mission in the MP list. Exit out of Arma2. i deleted the file, and then renamed the source pbo and put that in there. But again, it still shows the old filename with only 2 selectable units. Its infuriating, because i want to move on with testing the mission out. Why wont it show the new filename and still has the old mission, even though ive deleted all traces of it (i used Explorer search to look). How do i get around this problem? Thanks for your help :) Daza
Sgt.Spoetnik 10 Posted July 29, 2009 hi, First what editor are u using ;the 2D editor or 3D one, the 2D is the better 1 to use to make SP an MP missions. second: i dont know why you use a tool to pack your mission? in the (2D) editor you can place all you want and then save it as a SP mission or save as a MP mission, then go to MP and host or use LAN to try it out and you will play it in the version that you have saved it in editor. i think you make it harder then it already is, and if you still got probs. let us know. later
daza 36 Posted July 29, 2009 Hi, Thanks for your reply. I kind of over panicked because i had this problem in Arma1. I have two fractions. It was showing the enemy faction which has only two units. And if you click on the Bluefor fraction in the mp game menu the other units show. Phew! I feel like an idiot. However with Arma1 this problem did exist and i figured it carried over into Arma2 with how they do their files. I use the cpo utility because back when i was using Arma1 someone recommended me to use that rather than the built in one. Because my exported mission was not showing up at all. So yeah i jumped the gun on this one. But at least everything is okay now. Thanks for your reply anyway :) I hope when BIS finalise the 3d editor it will be easier to create missions.
