Hey everyone. Well I just picked this game up yesterday. I must say I am amazed. The only thing is that I really have no idea what I am doing. I have gone through all the boot camp missions and still get lost on multiplayer. Anyone have any tips or guides that they would like to share?

On a side note the one and only thing I do not like about the game right now is the performance. I was running with a E6420 Oced to 2.66ghz and an 8800gts 320mb with 4GB DDR 2 ram. I was barely getting by with 20-25fps. I just bought a GTX 275 and I only notice a 5fps increase. I really hope this all gets sorted out. How are the devolpers with supporting their games? I never dealt with Bohemia so I don't know.

Also back to that getting lost on multiplayer thing. I have a general idea what I am supposed to do but it seems like I never see action and when I do I die really fast. Also how does everyone spot friend from foe so quickly? Someone told me ingame to use spacebar. It seems to work but is that the only way?

Anyway bottom line is that I really love this game but the learning curve is steep but I am willing to learn.

Hey LJGoose, welcome to Bohemia's sandbox :)

First and most important note, Bohemia does support it's game more than any other developer I've ever had to deal with. Operation Flashpoint got patched for at least a few years and Armed Assault is having a beta patch open which they probably will finish after they've dealt with the biggest ArmA II issues. Armed Assault is 2,5 years out now so they support there games as you'd want them to. Yet they don't always communicate right away, which isn't really that hard to understand as you'll get to see how demanding this community is.

Now to your initial questions:

-To learn recognise the enemies takes practise, just open up the editor and place all types of friendly and enemy units around your position, close and far and you'll find out what their unique features are.

-Take your time to find out where the action is, and when you know WHERE it is check the map on HOW you can get there the safest, but DON'T RUSH IT take your time to asses the situation, even if it's just a simple Team Death Match where you have to travel to the battlezone you still need to have at least a bit of a tactical approach to survive.

So get used to using the map (M-key) and the binoculars (B-key), and start with the editor or at least singleplayer if you want to get used to the game basics.
