Is there any way to force clients to use a particular mod on your server without them having to disconnect, find it, download it, install it, reconnect.....? I want to put afp's minimal crosshair mod on my server and force all joining players to use it... any ideas? Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
cross 1 Posted July 25, 2009 You cannot force players to download a mod while joining. However you can ensure they have the mod before joining by setting some rules in your server config. It is a long topic and every solution has a limitation or a drawback you must be aware of. You can force them to have the mod but you cannot push-load the mod when they join. It is up to them to download and use the mod or not. The easiest 2 methods, if you want to force a mod on every player, are 1-Yoma -> get yoma addon snyc 2009 and set it up so that others can synchronize with your server before joining http://dev-heaven.net/projects/list_files/yoma-addonsync2009 2-signature verification. RN Escobar 0 Posted July 25, 2009 you used to be able to have equalmodrequired=1 or something along those lines in the server.cfg. this forces all players to have exactly the same mods loaded as the server i.e. if the server ran with -mod=@ace;@x-hair;@vopsound then all player would have to run those mods (and i think only those mods) to be able to connect. i think it even checks the files to make sure they match the server files so mods can't be altered, it was used in some leagues to equal a possibly unequal playing field Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
