frederf 0 Posted July 13, 2009 The black squares are a failure of the alpha channels from working properly. It's likely some DirectX, driver, or similar error.

manberries 0 Posted July 13, 2009 Update directx, update drivers, blow the dust off your graphics card, make sure its not over heating, buy a new graphics card. In that order.

private plowjoy 0 Posted July 13, 2009 any ideas? Being totally honest, 256mb of VRAM in a game like Arma2 won't cut it without creating problems. I'm surprised you've persisted with it, thus far. Not saying that's exactly the reason but when I was running an 856mb VRAM card I saw exactly the same kind of problem because i'd got the in-game graphics settings set too high. Try reducing all in-game settings to Low and Off where possible and then see if things improve.

private plowjoy 0 Posted July 14, 2009 i run 20 fps at high Yeah but the problem you're seeing is a classic issue when attempting to load up textures and objects into system RAM then VRAM. Let me guess, you don't get this straight away? It only happens when you've been playing for a while? In any case, when you next get this problem hold down SHIFT and MINUS (keypad), let go and then type 'flush' without the apostrophies. The screen will go black and you'll get a message telling you that a FLUSH is in progress. That will force the arma2 client to refresh and you should see an improvement for a while.
