sgtgrumbles 10 Posted July 11, 2009 Hey, I just bought ARMA figuring my computer could handle it. When I started it up it was pretty normal for a couple minutes, then I began to notice that certain parts were colored in random colors. For instance my rifle scope would be pink, and my face would be red, and the grass would be a mixture of red and yellow, while the uniform would be normal colors. I have tried every setting high and low for graphics and nothing changed it, I also tried different resolutions with no effect. On that note, possibly unrelated, the text in the game would sometimes be blocked out by black boxes, or change into unrecognized characters. This problem however seems to go away at a really high resolution. Its still a problem however if I dont want to run it at something more my monitors size. I saw about 2 people on forums had similiar problems, but no one was able to help them. I have directx 9, and I believe the most recent versions of my drivers. Also, would anyone know how to change the resolution set in the game back to default witohut doing it by the settings menu. I accidently clicked the highest resolution when changing it, and now when I start it up my monitor turns blank and says out of scan range. My bad. sgtgrumbles 10 Posted July 13, 2009 Here are the screen shots. The color distortions on the ground and buildings vary where you are and if you are moving. The ones on the characters sometimes go away, but for the most part stay permanent while playing. Like the gun in this, and the bridge in the background. The ground in this one is an example of what happens occasionally, sometimes its worse, sometimes you dont see it. The rifle scope on this shot frequently happens. This one is of the menu screen, you can see the letters and numbers in the top right and bottom left are blocked out, sometimes it happens to all of the text making everything unreadable, depending on the resolution sometimes it will make the text a bunch of random characters like "//{|\" and so forth.
