LordDunce 10 Posted July 10, 2009 i have a heavy Coop map with 1200 bots inside Chernosk i need to turn off Grass and or any other server side options to help with the lag. Any help
Mojo 0 Posted July 10, 2009 I believe it is terrainDetail that you want to adjust via init file, for the grass. Set to 25 should give you a few meters of grass rendered at the client side. Of course, this isn't going to affect the lag one way or the other, only your client's frame rates. Can you not turn down the bot population? Create them with scripts as needed via trigger... unless you have all 1200 charging at you in a human-wave attack ;) You'd be better served looking at the settings for the arma2.cfg first, then shutting down the file check, etc. in the server.cfg - for JiP issues, then be sure that you are not running anything that is extra on the server. At least that is where I would start looking.

Mojo 0 Posted July 11, 2009 that's great, so did you look at the other stuff there, who has the lag - you or the server, what is the FPS, what is the BW usage, what is the CPU load? What are your arma.cfg settings? Do you use file checking? Verify Sigs?
dale0404 5 Posted July 11, 2009 Dont mean to go off topic but is there a script available to run the UPS via a trigger. So as you get to a certain area the enemy is created with the stuff you need for the UPS to activate in the Init field of the enemy units that have just been created? VISION1776 10 Posted September 23, 2011 terrainDetail didnt do a thing for me. I even set terrainDetail = 0; in the init.aqf file and it didnt turn off the grass.
