Tolyzor 10 Posted July 6, 2009 Why have amazing graphics when they are constantly blurred or bloomed to oblivion? These two gimmicks completely destroy the amazing graphics of this game, please atleast add an option to disable them. As an aside, blur is the most pointless invention ever, seeing as your eye does it in real life as you look at the screen when things are moving fast! Also I get a bug with the m107 where the muzzle break is motion blurred but the rest of the weapon is not.
frederf 0 Posted July 7, 2009 There is a graphics option to disable post processing. I too despise the bloom and blur on even "Low." I would love to have these effects if they were at a reasonable level and not at 10,000% game dev Lala Land. Depth of field blur happens as a function of range. The M107 barrel is long enough that you really notice the blur at that range.
mr_centipede 31 Posted July 7, 2009 you can adjust the bloom by reducing brightness. mine is set at 0.
maturin 12 Posted July 7, 2009 Yeah, post-processing should be off by default. Most of the bloom takes the form of a strange halo surrounding anything white, whether a roadsign or a sedan. Not nearly as bad as the radioactivity of Oblivion, persay, but still strange. The game is drab, so no bloom helps the consistency. I don't have a problem with the blur, except for the fact that it cuts my framerate in half the moment I need it most.
frederf 0 Posted July 7, 2009 Check out the bloom on the white spots on cows or the luminous tape on the uniforms of naval deck officers. Interesting that brightness and bloom are related. I'll test that.
