Others cannot use my mission

Recommended Posts

Hello!

I have a very big problem with ofp. I just made my first fully completed mission, but when I sent it to the other guys, with who I want to play it, they cannot load it, because the ofp kicked them out, with error messages, about missing units.

The mission is made on Jungle Everon, and some UN units. They all downloaded these units, but after that the mission still wont work! Please if anybody knows a solve, to this problem, write to me, cause I worked with this mission more than a week to complete, and it covers almost the half island.

Starving for solutions:

It's obvious that whoever gets this message is missing this addon, plain and simple.

I'd almost agree, however a friend of mine has been getting similiar errors as well. He gets some sort of vehicle error in the begining of the mission and some sort of missing Ural error during the MP mission which boots him out. I have not added any addon's to OFP to the best of knowledge. He called Codemasters and they haven't a clue what is wrong...

You've used the Gunslinger's Editor Upgrade Add-On, that's for sure.

So, firstly all of you're mates should install it as well.

Make sure all of the ppl who are gonna play it have the SAME version (the latest is 1.2)

Cheer up, at least you now know what hit you....

Hi!

The point, we all have the latest gunslinger addon & we all have all of the add-on units, but its still writing this... this is sucks. That work is goin' to the thrash, all because of some stupid errors. I worked a lot, with that mission. mad.gif

If somebody could help, I send to him the mission, then he can see, whats the problem & the error message.

Thx, cu.

If you run Windows File Find utility and do a text search for "GAX852" in OFP's ADDONS subdirectory, what files is this text found in?

Good. That is the most up-to-date version of the EU. BTW, there's no reference to "GAX852" in the EU's PBO.

Here's something else you may have missed... It happened to me several times before I got a clue...

Ok so let's say you make a mission using ONE addon... let's say it's the new FAMAS. Ok so the next day you deside that FAMAS totally sucks and you don't wanna use... so you delete it in the Mission Editior and replace it with a REGULAR dude. Well guess what? Your buddy is still going to need the FAMAS to play your mission. Why? Well even tho you deleted the unit in the Editior, the ENTRY in the [addon] section within the SQM is still present! The editor does not delete Addon Entries. You MUST do this manually... ie using NotePad or Write <---WARNING most missions are to large for NotePad to load so you'll have to use Write to open them! DO NOT!!!! "Word-Wrap" or anything else! The Addon entries will be at the top of the list.... delete what you need, save, and get out. Presto... u b dun.

I suppose, you missunderstood.

It's not the latest eu version, i posted.

It's EditorUpgrade1.pbo

I have to versions of pbo's in my addons folder.

One is called: EditorUpgrade102.pbo, and the

second is called EditorUpgrade1.pbo

I found a unit called GAXü58 in the second file.

So i guess, this is the crypted name of the file,

you're missing.
