1.30 install problems? PLEASE READ!!!

Recommended Posts

This might help. First of all, do you own the US version? (If not, first download 'Ulitimate Upgrade 2' from this website. If this 'Ultimate Patch 1.20 does not install properly, then download each patch and vehicle separately until you have upgraded to version 1.20. Now proceed reading). I had no problems at all installing the 'Ultimate Upgrade 3 1.30 patch' if I already had 1.29 installed. Now I noticed that if I jump from 1.20 to 1.30 'Ultimate Upgrade' I get the same error messages during install that you talk about. 'PBO errors and cannot find vehicles files' error messages are common now.

Get 'Public Beta 1.29 patch' (link below), then do a fresh install of OFP, then REBOOT YOUR COMPUTER BEFORE ANY OTHER ACTION (VERY IMPORTANT!), next install 1.29 patch, next REBOOT AGAIN, then install 'Ultimate Upgrade 3 1.30 patch'. Hope this helps. Please let me know...

Hey Makeup Guy,

If nothing else is working for them, I'd like to know how this is bad advice. It worked for me after trying many other things and I did state "FRESH INSTALL" in my post. Many other people have been having the same error messages as I have during install and this is the only way I could get 1.30 installed with no error messages. Just because you run your own OFP website doesn't give you the right to scare people away from my solution. It worked for me and it might work for them. I have had NO in-game errors from doing it this way- NONE, so please keep your d*amn opinions to yourself. Don't you think most of these people have tried your 'solution' and it didn't work? Let me explain it in clear english... THE SOLUTION POSTED ON YOUR WEBSITE DID NOT WORK FOR ME. I DID A FRESH INSTALL AND THEN PATCHED TO 1.30 AND I GOT ERROR MESSAGES EACH TIME. MY SOLUTION WORKED- YOURS DIDN'T. Am I the only one around here who isn't ignoring the people who have been posting with install problems? Where were you when they cried for help?

ps

What have these people got to lose if my solution doesn't work for them? A fresh install? BIG DEAL. People like you really piss me off...

Joe

Now that you put it that way, then maybe out of desparation, that's the best that can be done.

However, your original post can be misconstrued by people who otherwise wouldn't have had problems doing a proper upgrade to now do a faulty one.

I'll post my opinions whenever and wherever I like.

I don't use LGB's or laser sights, so that is probably why I haven't gotten in-game error messages. Many of these people would probably galdly do without those just to be able to install the 1.30 patch. Doing it my way worked for me... no other way would- including 1.20 to 1.30. NONE. And it seems to me the developers who have released this patch can't get a grip on the problems (1.30 install to be exact). Tell that to them.

ps

My post was to those people like me who DID try everything else. As I stated in the thread topic (1.30 install problems). This is a last resort solution for the people that have tried a fresh 1.20 to 1.30 install, but had continuous error messages (like me). And how can it be misconstrued that people with no problems would try my way (topic includes the words 'PROBLEMS' and 'INSTALL'). I did state that I tried a fresh install and tried to go from 1.20 to 1.30 with continuous error messages. It was all in my first post. Read it again.
