Recommended Posts

Hi there guys. Picked up this game today, and in game its just absolutely unplayable..cant move without it jerking all over the place. my fps is prolly about 5-10 :|

Specs:

AMD Phenom 64. Quad Core ~2.2ghz

3GB Ram

Nvidia Gforce 8400

Windows Vista

Screen: Samsung 26" TV res is 1360x768

I've put everything on low.. and it still won't run. Any ideas/help would be appreciated. Thankyou, nushe

Set fillrate to 100%, put everything else on low & reduce your resolution to 1280x768 & start tweaking.

Your cpu is low to mid range speedwise for this game, your graphics card the same.

good luck.

The in game settings, start low with an acceptable level of performance & move up until you find the sweet spot.

G luck.

The fill rate is probably the first thing to play with.

You might want to download fraps to check your fps.

get a new graphics card... arma2 with a geforce 8400 is hopeless - unless

you want to play in 640x480 & everything set to very low...and even that could be tricky!

No sorry mate, that card is weaksauce for most games, infact it's your cpu that is most important for ARMA 2.

Good luck.

I didn't even know there are quad cores that slow 2.2ghz. What where the guys at AMD thinking when they decided that...

I friend if mine got the XFX 9600 GT XXX Alpha Dog Edition 740M 512mb

his CPU is a Q6600 and the game runs with 15-30 fps without any AI activity

Obviously Im not going to go and get a new cpu lol. I Just want to be able to play this game smoothly with it looking alright (Not wanting anything spectacular) So if you couldnt change the cpu, buying a new card is the best bet right? I can easily go down the shops and get a new card.

A new videocard will help.. but the CPU is a very big factor, that the game runs smooth. If i was in your position, save some money up and buy a CPU + videocard

No shit sherlock, still better than what he has now.

This is just wasting money...

EDIT: http://forums.bistudio.com/showthread.php?t=72181&page=111 read this to check what runs the best with arma2!

you could also go for a Radeon 4850 / 4770 or Geforce 9800 GT - they are ages faster than yours and cheaper than a GTX 260.

If you find it for a good value, Radeon 4850 is the fastest of this three...
