AKaplan 10 Posted June 2, 2009 (edited) "dive into huge PvP battles for control of the whole map. " Can anyone explain what WHOLE MAP means? 30-100 slot servers but the entire campaign map? Open World ( like mmo )? Im awfully confused Edited June 2, 2009 by AKaplan
frederf 0 Posted June 2, 2009 The whole map would mean an entire terrain location, which used to be "islands" in the OFP days. I don't know how many terrain entities ArmA2 ships with but the big, main one is 25x25km
CarlGustaffa 4 Posted June 2, 2009 Warfare in Arma1 was either 16 or 32 human players pluss AI under player control if the player wanted them. This was by default only using a 'south only' version of the Sahrani island, where Sahrani landmass itself was smaller than the Chernarus landmass. If it now reads 30-100 slot servers, I think we can expect the whole of Chernarus to be used. Haven't read much about Warfare testing yet though.
Baron von Beer 0 Posted June 2, 2009 Are you new to Armed Assault/Flashpoint AKaplan? Open/Whole map refers to the way the game utilizes the maps. In Arma 2 the primary map is ~15km x 15km. No matter what portion a scenario focuses on, the whole map is always open. You can drive from one end to the other at any time. As to battle for the whole map, there are several MP mission types where two or more sides duke it out to take and hold a number of objectives spanning the map.
