Otharius 10 Posted April 20, 2009 (edited) Hello, I just bought the game from steam and I believe it came unpatched at 1.08. I get to the main menu but the boxes are solid black and the landscape is a solid white screen. At 1.14 the game loads all the check marks and then hangs at a black screen indefinitely. In 1.15 using the beta .exe file created in the beta folder I get the error "This application has failed to start because IFC22.dll was not found." When I copy and paste IFC22.dll from the main directory it tells me "no entry '.profilePathDefault" The game works fine windowed in 1.14 but if most servers have upgraded to 1.15 I wish to play online. I'm using Vista 64, 8 GB of RAM, ATI HD Radeon 3600, and a Intel Quad Core processor. Thanks for any help. Edit:Using the shortcut in the main directory that is created that just adds the -mod=beta command does nothing. It launches the game as if nothing changed into 1.14. I get a perpetual black screen. Also trying "-mod=beta -nosplash -window" just launches 1.14 also. Least I assume it's 1.14, it still says so in the lower left hand corner of the screen when the game loads. Yoma 0 Posted April 20, 2009 -There is a known issue with Ati cards and more then 4GB ram. Untill a new patch is made you can only run the game in windowed mode or by removing (either by physically removing Ram or by telling windows to only use 4GB) Ram. -To run the beta version you need to launch the game via the shortcut in the beta folder (check the readme.txt for more info)
SWAT_BigBear 0 Posted April 21, 2009 (edited) I would 1st try a reinstall of ArmA.....either disable Vista's UAC or, install the game and patches "as administrator" (by right click/options the exe). It's not going to fix the ATI+mega ram black screen, but may fix the "IFC22.dll was not found" error. 1 in our group ended up with multi ArmA directories thanks to Vista's security system after he installed 1.14, thus 1.15 gave him fits. It was very odd how 1.14 practically gave him a whole new ArmA install into "c/users/him/downloads/ArmA, and worked, but 1.15 would not take since it looked for the 1.14 in the proper path. i.e...c/Program Files/Atari/ArmA. Weird, I know, don't ask me how it did that, I could only find the cure for him. Edited April 21, 2009 by SWAT_BigBear

Yoma 0 Posted April 21, 2009 I thought that info was in the readme.txt But i just looked in the beta folder and saw there no longer exists a readme.txt inside that folder. (Maybe someone forgot to put it in the beta installer :D) Good to see you got it working ;)
