Multiplayer crashes!

Recommended Posts

Maybe somebody can help me out here. I have the upgraded 1.46 version of OFP and it works fine. Except if I click on multiplayer it starts to bring up like a laptop and right as it opens the game just crashes in a weird way. It doesn't lock up or mess with my computer it simply goes back to my desktop like I never even started the game.

this is begining to really piss me off...ive crashed more times in a week, than i have from weeks release to present.

So upset and irritated i did a freh install...or so i thought.

i uninstalled and deleted the codemasters folder.

after reinstalling and running 1.30 and 1.46 i thought i was set...i even took out all my maps for saving but havent put them in yet.

i have had nothing but crashes to desktop...followed by a restart...the restart is whats killing me...its not really good for pcs...

another problem is lost sessions....but im on cable so that shouldnt be an issue...

anyways lemme know if you got:

1. a fix

2. the same probs

3. a fast dedicated server running the older version

thx

Well i agree its much more unstable, and reinstalling the game has some minor issue`s. Like remembering old account names, and haveing an average of seven megs of who knows what left over even after a disk cleanup.

Only way for a surefire clean reinstall is reformating the sys, sux i know but had to do it twice now.

Speeding up performance aside from game options, install OFP in its own drive/partition,for alot of games do this.Run slower if you have multiple games installed on the same drive.

People need to know that this game is very demanding to your system, aswell as awsome to play. But if it has any minor issue`s expect alot of feezeing or crashing to desktop. But all this can be avoided by not overcrowding your drive.Even if you have a 20 gig hard drive and only 3 gigs are used same effect.

Now i know most cant partition a drive but if you can and want a faster running game/better performance, take the time out to do this works great.

My OFP didn't like the IPX-protocol in the network manager. It kicked me out just as you are describing it.
