Hellop 0 Posted January 8, 2009 I joined some mission and I saw lightning during a storm. Also, there are references to lightning in the OFP pages on the wiki. Is it possible to create lightning in Arma? References: This page references two "thunderbolt" classnames for ofp: http://community.bistudio.com/wiki....laneous This page gives an example to create a thunderbolt: http://community.bistudio.com/wiki/ParticleArray Any ideas? Maybe the "SPARKSEFFECT" particle effect?

Hellop 0 Posted January 9, 2009 Hi Sakura-chan, thanks for the reply. I assume you mean that there are lightning strikes when it rains. But, do you know how to make them using a particle effect? -Thanks
max power 21 Posted January 9, 2009 You should clarify what you mean by particles. Do you mean you want to use the particle simulation to make a lightning strike? Do you want to construct the physical bolt out of like smoke particles or custom particles or something? Or do you want to make a lightning strike effect? Or do you want to simply know the command or method for telling ArmA to create a lightning bolt weather effect, as it appears when it rains? So far it sounds like you want to make a lightning bolt out of particle effects. Perhaps if you went into more detail about your intentions, more solutions would come to mind.
