Lucky13 0 Posted March 3, 2002 I've got flickering shadows again! Usually at morning or dusk in the game long shadows will flicker depending on the direction my character faces and how far he is from the object casting the shadow. I had gotten rid of them somehow about a month ago changing different settings on my Geforce. I updated to OFP 1.45 and also my Geforce Tweaking utility to 3.12 last night and now their back. Does anyone else know what is causing this? I've tried changing the w-buffer and z-buffer settings to no avail. This problem is usually accompanied by a fickering in road textures as well. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Lucky
Lucky13 0 Posted March 3, 2002 I forgot to add this, Part of how I go rid of this before was to use the T&L setting. With just D3d there was no way to get rid of it. Now its back and won't go away even with T&L on.. Lucky
Lucky13 0 Posted March 4, 2002 Duh, adding my sys specs might help! AMD 1600 Geforce3 500ti DDR Nvidia Det 23.11 512 RAM Yeah this sucks. Even the road flicker is back here and there. The shadow problem is totally dependent upon the character field of view. If I look away from the object casting the shadow the shadow flickers. If I use the tactical view the shadow is completely visible with no flickering. What the heck! I've tried changing all of my W-buffer and Z-buffer settings and all of the suggestions on Avon's shadow FAQ. I was soooo glad to have gotten rid of it the first time, it is sooo anoying. Please, dear God someone help me! Remember Blues Brothers? I feel like Joliet Jake screaming for mercy as Princess Leah bears down on him with the M16. Please help!
