armatech 8 Posted October 14, 2008 Hi I'm begging that some one has come a cross this in the past and can give a speedy response. I have created a full mod of UAV's for ArmA/ArmA II but i have run into a show stopper and that being when our uav are setup to clime over 600m they will not follow the scripted way-points. It seams that the issue is that the uav flys to slow for that alt the problem there is there speed it correct to real world speeds and i would love to keep that intact so it can be as close to real as i can. Has any one else come into this issue and if so how did you fix it? Thanks in advance ArMateC
SD_BOB 10 Posted October 16, 2008 Although i cant provide a solution to this, i can confirm the bug. After trying to use the EMSI UAV with Mando Bombs, the same thing happens, it just wont fly where its told a that altittude. I found it seems to just circle around, changing the UAV for a standard AV8 seemed to sort the problem to some extent ( i know it doesnt help you much) but i believe its something to do with the speed of the aircraft. armatech 8 Posted October 16, 2008 yes this dose resolve it but the problem being they are uavs and not super sonic jets on average there speeds are 150 knots
fasad 1 Posted October 16, 2008 When I was working on the mission editor wiki article, I seem to remember finding that ~500m was the min proximity for AI in aircraft to complete a move to waypoint. Assuming the proximity check is done in 3d, and the waypoint is on the z=0 plane or at ground level, it could it be that the vehicle isn't getting close enough to the waypoint to ever satisfy the condition of arriving at it? I'll do a quick test... edit: nope, wp proximity is in 2d. AI in cobra at 800m seems to get scared of heights and just flys around in circles.
armatech 8 Posted October 16, 2008 yep that's the same issue best one to test it on is the camel and on Sara I've been trying some speed increasing scripts but yet with no luck i feel a function that would mimic the flight dynamics of arma allowing some offset settings to move the uav left right Vector UP and Down i will work on something soon and pop it on here. if ya feel you can do one also post it up and we can work on it together. I know EMSI UAV system could do with this also. AT
