OFP not launching

Whenever I try to launch OFP, the launch icon will appear, but then nothing will happen. Is there a way to fix it?

Try this :

-1st be sure your OFP Resistance is patched in 1.96

At this point, do not use any user addons or mods in ...\Addons\ or ...\res\Addons\ , only the original addons files from BIS (as your problem could be caused by an unstable mod or a dodgy addon)

-2nd launch Flashpoint Preferences (FlashpointPreferences.exe) and click Autodetect to reset your preferences that could have been not good for your system.

-3rd edit your OFP Resistance shortcut (the one pointing to FlashpointResistance.exe not the original and older pointing to OperationFlashpoint.exe) and at the end of the Target line, add :

<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">-nosplash -nomap

So the end of the target line looks something like this :

<table border="0" align="center" width="95%" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0"><tr><td>Code Sample </td></tr><tr><td id="CODE">...Flashpoint\FlashpointResistance.exe" -nosplash -nomap

-4th launch OFP Resistance with that edited shortcut.

-5th If it does not work, launch again the Flashpoint Preferences and :

try to get Direct 3D instead of Direct 3D HW&TL

click Advanced :

in the Performance tab, lower the geometry performance

in the Textures Tab, lower all those 2048*2048 to 1024*1024 or 512*512

Try to launch OFP again

If always does not work, remove the -nomap you added to the shortcut.

Hopefully you should make it to the main menu.

There go to the options, video options and lower the terrain to low or very low first before launching a mission.

If it works , you can try to up it to normal then.

I am able to get Resistance running normally, but I'd like to play the vanilla OFP SP campaign with the old sounds etc, it just won't launch. I tried what you mentioned above, but it will still display ofp logo, cd will starts spinning but the game does not launch.
