dmitri 0 Posted May 21, 2008 I'd like to know what resolution Sat\Mask maps you guys are using. Especially interested in those working above 20480x20480. Please post your res.
bravo 6 0 Posted May 21, 2008 worked with 5120x5120 and 10240x10240.. because my computer cant handle more then 10240x10240. Saving images become a pure hell
ProwlerWolf 0 Posted May 21, 2008 Yeah bravo is right. I don't go over 10240x10240, except on one of my maps I am using a 20480x20480 sat/mask. You have to wait a few minutes for the image to reload every time you make a change or mass selection. It also took photoshop about half an hour to save as a png and it would not save the document as a psd because of size limitations. Photoshop does have a Large Document Format (.PSB) which I was able to save with that. An image at that size took buldozer about an hour and a half to convert to paa. If you can take the headache of editing images over 10240x10240 then go right ahead but I hope you know what your getting into. A Sat/mask at that size can easily make your pbo go over 600 megs
-IC-Wedge 0 Posted May 21, 2008 Same... Im running a 64 x2 dual core 4200+ with 2g ram there is no way i could edit any size bigger in ps than 10240. It already takes about 15 mins to save that as it is when u got all the layers etc :-)
dmitri 0 Posted May 21, 2008 I've been working at 20480+ for a while. I find a RAID array and 64-bit OS does help a lot with the editing. Thanks for the responses, moot now that I have solved my res issue by rereading the biki vistor entry..triggered by something Linker Split mentioned.
