jens198 0 Posted May 13, 2008 Hi, I'm currently in the research/learning phase. My object is to recreate the Ft. Benning, McKenna Urban Training Site. While searching the internet for useful material (which reveals an astonishing amount of information) I stumbeld upon this site: http://www.ai.sri.com/~apgd/vl/datasets/Benning/radar/2.5m/ As one of the files is more than 200MB I'm very curious what information is hidden in this thing. I tried a few viewers for dte files and so on. But no luck so far. Can anyone give me some hints what to do exactly with these files? Thanks a lot in advance. rocket 9 Posted May 13, 2008 I was able to import the 0.4 meter radar scan (*.bin file) into 3DEM, but the resolution is so fine that it would be unusable in Armed Assault. You could trim it all down, and then use it however I am sure you could get 30m, or 90m DEM data for that area anyway as the USA is well covered with DEM data. I'm not sure of the file format of the 2.5m data, but have you tried experimenting with importing it into MicroDEM or 3DEM? The key is reading the HDR files - they tell you what you need to know to successfully import them into 3DEM, MicroDEM etc...
