boneboys 0 Posted May 13, 2008 I knock timidly on the door... This is my first effort with the ArmA editor, so no Intro, no Outro, just the bit in the middle, heck, I don't even know how to "this removeAllWeapons" without getting a 'try anything expect nothing' reply. I will not be dismayed. So it needs QG + one of the patches (1.12 for example) and then hotfix_dbe1, just to get going (I think) . Order your men into the Whirlybird and don't forget to tell em "all disembark". I've gone through the mission so many times that I don't know if its good or bad. Can't see for looking, as me old Mum used to say. Single Player is, well single player. The MP has been somewhat modified. 3 teams (10+10+5), 25 slots but is not intended to be played by 25 people, there is team re-spawn implemented so you can take a look at the different aspects of the assault. I do it on a local LAN. I don't even know if it would work on zee internetz. Links http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=3086 This is the MP http://www.armaholic.com/page.php?id=3188&a=dl Thank you for your time and trouble, I'm of now to work on my next production (WIP) named : 0051, The Spy who Dumped Me . Forgive the errors of my youth...
-Snafu- 79 Posted May 14, 2008 Hey, Good to see an increasing number of people getting stuck into the mission editor. The more the merrier eh? If you want to further enhance your mission go here http://ofpec.com check out the tutorials and hop in the forum (post your mission up on the Beta section if you want and you will get advice on how to improve it) and see what help you can get. I was in the same situation with my mission a couple months ago, went to OFPEC and thanks to them the mission has improved a hell of a lot. I am now able to use scripts and understand the editor MUCH better than before. It is also worth learning basic camera scripting for intro's and outro's. I managed to learn them a couple days ago thanks to this tutorial. (It is in English). Also google Chris ArmA editor (allows you to create scripts, briefings, overviews etc.) if you have not got that yet. Very useful tool.
boneboys 0 Posted May 14, 2008 Thanks for the advice snafu, at the moment I have no idea how to do camera work. I put the mission up for download because I really needed to look at other aspects of the editor. I now use a test map to try out things to see if they work. I've been taken completely by surprise by the passion I have for this editor. I have mucked about in other editors in the past, Hammer/Source/UTEd, this 'need to know how it works' goes back to WarCraft II Tides of Darkness. I'm aiming at 30/40 mins of game play in a mission. Thanks...
