Utley 0 Posted April 20, 2008 Im having a heck of a time trying to get ArmA to start. Â I dont know where to start, I just know that the main GUI is displayed incorrectly, the Nvidia intros are abscent and the main menu looks like this: My specs are as follows: Dual Nvidia 9600GT superclocked not in SLI mode Asus P5N-E SLI Q6600 Intel Corsair XMS2 6gb's 2x500gb Western in RAID-0 Vista x64 Ultimate non SP1 (cant update for some reason) 1200w Coolmax 22" Samsung LCD 220m @ 1680x1050 I cant start the game at all, I cant install SP1 for reasons unknown to me, and I have all the latest drivers. Â I have tried everything from lowering my video settings, 3d settings, and uninstalling, reinstalling, and installing the latest patches including the newest beta. Â Would like some help here, I havent found any topics describing the issue I am currently experiencing. AFAIK I have the latest DX10 version. Â This is the only game I have issues with. Thanks in advance.

Nev1571 0 Posted April 20, 2008 Are you sure you are using the correct shortcut to start the game? The beta shortcut? You should make sure you have the hotfixes related to nvidia cards and ram stuff in vista.. They are included in SP1, but they can be downloaded separately somehow. Nvidia.com doesn't have the links anymore though, now that they are included in SP1..
FritzDaKat 0 Posted April 20, 2008 Judging by the picture, best guess would be that althou your cards aren't in SLI mode, something's telling them they're supposed to be. I.E. SLI, 1 card renders upper half, second bottom half. In your shot, it looks like the intro (Minus text and so forth) has been crushed down to the lower half of the screen. Video cards "We're not running in SLI mode" CPU / Mobo Chipset "But theres two of you! so we're spitting your video image Video card 1 " I want no part of this" Video card 2 "Ok, I'll do the rendering" I'd be checking the Asus site as well as Intel or Nvidia (Thats a P35 right? / Intel) for updates to the chipset inf files /drivers, not just video & sound. Chipset inf files controll the handling of I/O from various system resources (sound-video cards to CPU, CPU to PCI slots, ram etc.) And if you do find there is one uninstall your video & soundcard drivers before installing the chipset update as it wil lay out certain guidelines for how the sound - video card drivers should be configured on install. (IIR, the 174.85 beta drivers @ guru3d.com are supposed to have improved SLI handling listed as one of the "fixes")
