change value of a value within an array

I cant seem to get this right

I can check on a value within an array fine with this :

? (ExemptTownsArray select 3) == 1 : do something

but if I try to actually change the value, it errors

(ExemptTownsArray select 3) = [1]

I cant seem to get the syntax right, I need to be able to modify the value of a number of the array's values

any help hugely appreciated, im trying to find a reference that does this in here and cant find one so far

set is what you need: ExemptTownsArray set [3,1]
