Mark XIII (DayZ) 18 Posted April 28, 2008 My sound addon uses samples of the highest quality, zero 'live in afghanstan' sounds from me, I edit my sounds to include a full spectrum of frequencies, if you don't believe me...take my M107 for a test drive... Sound is a personal thing...as is one person's view on realism to anothers, then factor in Arma's game engine and your gonna have to compromise somewhere between realism (Ouch my ears are bleeding!) an immersion (S**t that SVD sounded awesome!)..my personal opinion is theres enough sound addons out there to cater for everyone tastes and more are being created all the time..So why not try them all, if your still not happy...make your own like I did! Armed_101 0 Posted April 28, 2008 Great info guys... Is there a good link to a site on how to make your own sound mod? Im thinking about just going to the gun range and believe me i have guys that i know here and there that have access to military gun ranges... And ill see what I can put together.... And if i can get some beta testers together and give me some good feedback that would be cool... Cant be that difficult. Even if I got some on the basic weapons that everyone uses... Like the AK74, M16, M4, SPR, Sniper Rifles etc... I did some searching on trying to find the sounds in the game folder, but they seem to be in some weird format. Could be that im not looking in the right place. But anyways thanks for the help and the time that all have spent on this post...
Mark XIII (DayZ) 18 Posted April 28, 2008 Heya Armed_101, WOW, wish I had access to ranges and stuff like that still nevermind...At the moment unless someone proves me wrong, theres not really a decent tutorial made yet, I think sickboy started to write one, but that guys supabusy! As regards to your shooting range access, i'd look into what mics work best and where to place them on the range..because even having access to this stuff doesn't mean your gonna get quality results unless you check on recording technique... Good luck mate, I think we're all looking forward to hearing your results! Regards Mark XIII
