Fatbob 0 Posted April 9, 2008 Hi all, I recently got into modding OFP and i was wondering if O2 was the ONLY modeling tool you could use. I myself am very familiar with Newtek's LightWave 3D program. Just wondering this because i find O2 to be a little...erm...primitive.
sanctuary 19 Posted April 9, 2008 Lots of modellers are using different modelling programs they are more used to when creating their models, as O2 for OFP is lacking several usefull functions (either not present at all, or removed from the full O2 version for the O2 light we have). Once they are done, they export/convert/import their model in O2 so they can finalize it and its lods for OFP usage. You should be able to use Lightwave , as according to the HMS Hermes addon readme : Quote[/b] ]The HMS hermes addon was made in Lightwave 3D, then exported to 3DS format, then imported into O2
Sennacherib 0 Posted April 9, 2008 I use 3dsmax/wings 3D. As Sanctuary said, you have just to import your model (3ds file) in oxygen. the textures must be TGA, so they will converted by oxygen itself.
