Cant upgrade from 1.04 to 1.08

Hi all,

After a fresh reinstall i tried to upgrade but it wont let me thru...

Please be patient. This update may appear to take a long time to complete. It is updating and installing very large data.

Reinstall game from original CD disc and try again.

I have tried both the international and european patch and the patch that comes with Queens Gambit. It seems to stuck at different .pbo each time i try to upgrade....

please help me out here...

Please read and follow the Download Guide.

If you have the 1.04 version you need install the proper 1.05 patch first before installing 1.08 or the 1.11 beta.

Yes i know, 1.05 european or international wont work. The thing is that i have done this a bunch of times before without any trouble...

Sounds like a problem with the installation then, scratches on the DVD etc.

You could try copy and extract the addons manually from the DVD. They are as .gz archives in the addons folder, you can open them with WinRAR for example.
