Can anyone complete single player mission ambush

Simple Question, Can anyone complete the second single player mission (Ambush) when playing in vetran with Super AI on?

I cant - If I follow orders I get killed, and if I play the way I want to the whole squad get killed before we even secure the farm buildings, never mind Houdan.

No problem. Your mistake is following orders.

I always follow the orders when issued to me unless I physically cannot.

Remember, when you are the grunt, you arn't the one making the decisions, it's not your place to make any. So if you follow orders, it really isn't your fault the mission failed.

Just hope that your AI leader makes the right choices.

I can survive, by not following orders, but my squadmates all get killed and I get told to RTB.

I wish they would listen to orders - the leader sais "and no John Wayne Heroics" but they run headlong into the fight and then its oh no one is down, oh no three is down etc.

When I say don't follow orders that doesn't necessarily mean you can frollick in the woods.

For example, when your CO says target RPG soldier 379 meters, I pretend I didn't hear him.

When I'm told to taget a soldier and I feel the risk is too great (see several other enemy units within the same are), I pretend I lost a contact lense.

As for my team, I back them up. That is, I don't have to be the one way out in front. The AI are excellent in firing at enemy units I didn't see before, making me target them as well, concentrating firepower where it's needed, which also helps them.

I dont think I've played Ambush mission, but here's how you complete Desert Ambush:

I've beaten Desert Ambush by myself alone several times. All you need to do is to have a couple LAW's and a satchel, run to the truck, move to the airport by shore, get out, crawl to the T80, plant a satchel, get away and have a nice view on the shilka there, shoot it with LAW and at the same time blow up the T80. Then finish up the two pilots and any crew if they just out from T80 and/or shilka. Steal a chopper and kill the convoy, then everything else, including infantry at the village objective. There isnt alot off ammo in choppers but the convoy trucks have ammo in them, so it's a good idea to shoot a couple times into one of the trucks with 30mm to make the troops jump out so you can rearm your chopper later.

It takes me about 9 mins from the start to steal a chopper and there's enuff time to wipe out the convoy from the air after that.

I do this almost every time succesfully. The hardest part is not to let enemy notice you while taking the truck to the airport. Sometimes, if you dont go far enuff to the shore a BMP comes chasing you and an Mi17, but all you've got to do is to make a larger loop by the shore to get to the airport.
