milobr 0 Posted February 20, 2008 This is not EXACTLY a bug but is a serious issue IMO. The fact remains in the fact that you just can't see enemies past 600, 700 meters (I think). They just become invisible. I've tested and its related to Objects Detail. Of course, my pc can't handle if I max it so I was thinking if its possible to fix that somehow, like showing only soldiers/tanks/planes/etc ignoring the bushes and rocks, etc. That's because when you max the Objects Detail there are a lot of environments objects that'll show too, slowing the game considerably. Chris Death 0 Posted February 20, 2008 Your sys-specs and ingame settings would off course be very helpful to people trying to give you any advise. ~S~ CD
milobr 0 Posted February 20, 2008 Ok, sorry about it. My PC specs: Intel Core2Duo 4400 2.0GHz 1024mb DDR2 RAM Geforce 8400GTS 512mb My Ingame settings are: Everything to Low or Very Low, except Textures that are "Normal", no filters whatsoever. Anyway I didn't post it because I thought it was not hardware related, because my other PC uses a totally different configuration though it has the same issue. I don't think it's a bug, instead it's probably a feature to save resources, but instead it really ruins the gameplay. Hoping for an answer.
BraTTy 0 Posted February 21, 2008 Is this only since 1.09b? I say that because I was playing prior to 1.09 with low-spec and don't recall that at all. First system was a laptop (Xp 4000+ cpu,1 gig ddr,x600 video) And I slapped a 7600gs 512mb videocard in my PIV 3.0 with 1 gig ddr memory and was using that and don't recall that problem ( i see the dots moving at 600-700 meters pull out binocs or scope and identify and fire) I know I didn't have that problem as I was sniping from the hills this way. I was using settings of low to very low on those PC's Next question...are you using Vista ? Just from reviews I see Vista has lesser performance than Xp currently. Mix that with your 2.0 gig per core cpu maybe is taxing performance ? I certainly don't have the problem currently using 1.09 but my system is also better now (X2 6400+,4 gig ddr2, ATI HD3870 512 ddr4 video, XP64) I see what your saying, too bad settings don't allow priorities for soldiers, vehicles (threats)
milobr 0 Posted February 21, 2008 No, I'm not using Vista and that has always been there since I play the fist release. Oh dear, I think I'll have to keep zooming in to see the enemy.
