.wss converter

Recommended Posts

Is there any propper/specific program for ARMA that converts .wss in wave and wave in .wss?

I also have a question that might sound strange:

I tried to use a wss file that already existed with better quality, i had to rename it and replaced with old one but when i rename the file i can not hear it no longer.

I mean i didn't open the file and edit it.. i just renamed the file to fit what i pretend to do.

why can't it be heared?

This is the version I use. OFP_WSSProgs Download

Using the XP Powertoys(if running XP) addin, "Open command window here" works nicely with it. Right-click your conversion folder, open command window, open folder, convert. smile_o.gif

The .wav files have to be 16bit, non-variable, typically 44Khz. Usually the .wav files I have are captured with SoundRecorder, maybe the format Soundrecorder saves in is the reason I don't have problems? smile_o.gif

ok thanks, ill have a try.

edit: is there any valid explanation that a working wss sounds stops to work or be heared by copying it to a folder and renaming it?

I ask this because some of the sounds are working fine with 1 name but when i try them by copying them and renaming they simply dont work sad_o.gif

Notice the config have the renamed name that i want to use.

I'd recommend you don't use old OFP tools for anything in ArmA. There are better versions for ArmA.

ArmA audio tools are included with all the official tools here.

Hmm, yep, thanks Matt. Even though I personally haven't had a problem with the old tools, I'll check the version out.
