allthumbs 0 Posted February 8, 2008 I was looking at the incredible screenshots for OFP on the forum. What mods do you use to get such graphical improvements? It looks awesome!

allthumbs 0 Posted February 8, 2008 I'd like to try that out. I don't have any mods or anything installed - just OFP GOTY. I see in the instructions that I just extract the folder to the OFP directory, and then run the .bat file. There is another instruction that says "To install mod configs" copy the mod + @SLXto your OFP directory. Does that mean if I have no mods installed I don't need to do that, or is this another step in the basic install of SLX? Thanks for the help. Also, does this modify the way the troops look? zulu1 145 Posted February 9, 2008 Quote[/b] ]There is another instruction that says "To install mod configs" copy the mod + @SLXto your OFP directory. Does that mean if I have no mods installed I don't need to do that, or is this another step in the basic install of SLX? You first need to "extract" @SLX to the OFP directory. Then go to the @SLX folder and run either Install Win2k_XP or Install Win98_me depending on your operating system. The NO_HWTL installs are if you aren't using Dir3DHWTL which you really need for the nice effects. Anyway as you run through the installation you are asked if you want to disable Resistance Textures (or something). Of course not so hit any key to continue. After all of the data files are patched and copied you're almost ready to play. This may take a while so make sure it's finished before you proceed. The last thing you need to do is to make a shortcut in the @SLX folder to FlashpointResistance.exe in the main OFP directory. Once this is done do a right mouse click on the shortcut you made and go to properties. Then in the target box and at the end you'll see { FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE" } After this make a space and add the following so it looks like this: Quote[/b] ]"C:\Program Files\Codemasters\OperationFlashpoint\FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE" -nomap -nosplash -mod=@SLX Then hit apply and ok. Double click the shortcut now and the mod will launch. Since this is a separte "MOD Folder" It will in no way affect your normal OFP installation. To play normal OFP just run the FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE like you always have and to play the mod run the shortcut you made in the mod folder. If you want to get into lots of mods look into Kegty's Mod Launcher which you can find info on by searching the fourms here.
allthumbs 0 Posted February 9, 2008 Thanks. I actually ended up trying FFUR 85, which I think has SLX with it. I went through the extraction and the last thing it said was " you can now run OFP with the SLX Replacement Pack by using "-mod=@SLX". There is an icon in the folder that says Launch FFUR '85.exe, and when I use it, the game does have really nice textures. The question I have is, do I need to do something else to also enable SLX in addition to FFUR, or is SLX already running? Sorry, and thanks
