New creative xfi sound drivers = problems

Hi everyone.

I recently installed the new Creative sound drivers for my Xfi Xtreme music card (under Vista64).

Everything seemed fine but when playing ArmA a lot of the gun shots were muffled/distorted (sounded like they were under water).

I tried loads of different settings in the game and in the Creative Audio Console but I couldn't fix the problem. In the end I did a system restore to roll back the drivers.

Anyone else have this problem and know how to fix it?

dunno about Vista, but for XP the latest beta arent that good.

from what i read around the net, these beta drivers update the firmware on the soundboard, thus making it impossible to roll back to the previous stable drivers, true or not, im leaving these alone.
