Cloughy 0 Posted October 18, 2007 Is there a command to reduce the flicker, it didnt used to happen when the time was 30 mins later. The time is 1900 on Jul 18. The prob with having the time later is, its getting dark when we land. I want a bit of day fighting before we head into town for a dusk brawl with the commies. Is it a bug, with the engine trying to fathom out whether to be bright or dull? Cheers GC
Balschoiw 0 Posted October 18, 2007 Hmm A bit hard to reproduce. Could you post screenies or a short movie to show the flaw ?
Cloughy 0 Posted October 18, 2007 It flickers when the camera is viewing an area to the right of the setting sun, ie the sun is out of shot and the cutscene has just moved to that particular view from another angle and light situation. Ill see if i get chance to post some vids, pics wouldnt really do it any justice, as it would only catch the tone of that frame. Cheers GC
Balschoiw 0 Posted October 18, 2007 Just guessing, but do you see that flickering while the cam is moving, or even when it´s still ? I guess I would play around with the camera angle and position a bit, maybe accelerate time (just some minutes) while the cam is moving to avoid the specific time-light situation. If you can upload or send me the mission I could have a look at it as it´s hard to reproduce or find a solution without knowing what´s exactly going on. I sometimes have a bit flickering when the cam I move is very much zoomed in but the flickering ends when the cam stops. If you get flickering with a static cam aswell, just move it a bit and change it´s angel by a few degrees. That should be enough.

Turned out to be a chopper I had, hovering in a bad position relative to the sun.
Cloughy 0 Posted October 19, 2007 Dont think its a badly placed choppers, because the A10s do their strafe run before the helos get to the LZ. PS. These cutscenes are around the Airport on south Sahrani. Cheers GC
UNN 0 Posted October 19, 2007 It does sound like a HDR problem though. Does it look like one?
Cloughy 0 Posted October 20, 2007 It does look like a bug, as if it cannot decide what brightness to set the camera at. Cheers GC
