tzvetoslav 0 Posted August 18, 2007 Hi guys.I'm making a movie and I need to make some speeches.I learned about Wav2lip,read some about it but still can't make it work.I'm using GoldWave to record my sounds and save them.I know that I have to save it as 16bit mono 44,100kHz but it doesn't work(I save it as OGG Vorbis (mode+1)).When I put the file over the Wav2lip.exe a command prompt appears for half a second and nothing happens. Is there anyone who uses Wav2lip with Vista? If there is,I'll be very greatfull if he can tell me how to do it Thanks. Balschoiw 0 Posted August 18, 2007 You have to use .wav files with wav2lip, not .ogg files Once you are done with your lip-files convert the .wav files to .ogg to embedd them in your mission.
tzvetoslav 0 Posted August 18, 2007 It still doesn't work ...What program are you using to record/save the files? Thanks.
johnnyboy 3798 Posted August 18, 2007 I don't have vista, but I use wav2lip all the time with XP. One strange problem with wav2lip is that where you run it from needs to be a directory that has no embedded spaces in it. Bad example: c:\my sound files\wav2lip.exe Good example: c:\mySoundFiles\wav2lip.exe The bad example case just fails, with no error indicating why. And if the files aren't mono, it will fail with no error also (but I think you knew that). Good luck.
tzvetoslav 0 Posted August 18, 2007 Ok,thanks but I ran into another error.Seems that my program can't save the file as 16bit (it saves it as 32).Can you tell me the program which you are using or any program which can record/convert a file to the correct format (16bit 44,100 kHz.(BTW,the directory which my wav2lip is Computer > Local Disk (C:) )Thanks
Balschoiw 0 Posted August 18, 2007 GoldWave should be ok for recording the sounds. If you have trouble use dbpoweramp music converter. I use it because you can convert sounds very fast and easy with a lot of adjustable settings, including constant bitrate, which has got lost with some programs like soundforge 8.0 and is needed to get the sounds to work in Arma. I´ve had the problem with SoundForge that the VBR calculations made the sound unusable for Arma. Anyway, the file has to be mono, 16bit, 44Khz, constant bitrate and a .wav file before you pull it over the program icon. The program itself has to be in a folder to work properly as it seems.
