MP 0 Posted December 15, 2001 I'm sick of seeing "XP wont do this and XP wont do that"... If you guy's running Win XP bothered to read the System Requirements, it clearly states that it supports: Windows 95 / 98 / ME / 2000 ... Can you see WinXP here??? I think not... This thread could turn out to be a steaming pile of horse s'hit because I don't know what's on the back of the US version.
Guest Posted December 15, 2001 you know what ? I don't care how much you dislike reading about peoples problems getting OFP to run in WinXP. If there are incompabilities between OFP and WinXP, then I'm sure BIS would like to hear about it as WinXP will be more and more used all over, wether you like it or not. Ponomis 0 Posted December 15, 2001 Then it is BIS's responsibility to put out a patch to make it compatible. XP, is the OS MS will be pushing onto home users.
Krull SGC 0 Posted December 15, 2001 OFP works great on my Windows XP Pro system, infact it worked perfectly on installation without any messing. The only problem I have is the SB Live! hiss when first getting into a vehicle, but thats only minor, and BIS say they have fixed it for the next patch, but I always switch to the exterior view straight away so it doesn't bother me. As for the people claiming OFP doesn't work with XP they must be doing something wrong, or have some nasty hardware combination that messes it up. Also XP does actually have a Program compatibility wizard which works quite well with programs designed specifically for the older versions of Windows, of which OFP is not one. CK1 0 Posted December 16, 2001 XP works Fine, from day one, not 1 single problem. People have different hardware, and different controlling software installed, it causes problems. These things are probably not XP's, or OFP's problem, but a mix of OFP,XP, and whatever drivers/hardware they have running. Still, sometimes, a minor tweak can make someone who is crashing have a perfectly fine game. XP is fancy version of the 2000 platform, so If you see "Win2000 compatible" you can be 95% sure it will mostly likely, probably, maybe, kinda work with Xp, Sometimes. Course, your Hardware may be obscure, so who knows. I'll have my meds now.

Dynablue 1 Posted December 17, 2001 I agree with the rest of the pro XPers. I installed XP and never looked back..OFP works great, if anything, smoother than it ran under 98SE. I have some audio hiss in vehicles but it's very minor.
